Rapeseed values continue to drift

UK prices of rapeseed are lower as matif values continue to fall. Matif rapeseed prices are following soyabeans which are now at 13 month lows with November trading at $9.20 a bushel.

Old crop values are little over £320.00 ex farm, whilst harvest prices are around £290.00 ex farm. Whilst yield prospects look better for the UK rapeseed harvest, there are still uncertainties around French and German crops.

Also, commentators are of the opinion soyabeans are getting oversold and any fall to below $9 a bushel may be short lived.

Our opinion is that risks are still prevalent in the US, and the corn crop especially could be affected by continuing unfavourable conditions. If a weather market develops this could allow better pricing opportunities in the future.
