United Oilseeds Loads OSR at Fraserburgh

Date Added: 10/12/2014

First time Fraserburgh Used to Export Agricultural Produce for 30 Years

National farmers' co-operative United Oilseeds is loading 2,250mt of oilseed rape onto the MV Hertfordshire in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, today (10/12/14).

The vessel is the first to load agricultural produce at Fraserburgh for 30 years. This is now possible thanks to a major project that deepened and improved access to the port.

Collected from United Oilseeds growers at farms around Scotland and delivered to the port by Scottish Haulier of the Year, Ian Roger Transport, the OSR is scheduled to have completed loading tomorrow.

"United Oilseeds now exports oilseed rape via 23 ports located around the UK, meaning haulage costs are kept low and growers can get their OSR to dockside quickly and easily. In partnership with Ian Roger Transport, we are delighted to be able to offer Fraserburgh as a new export route for our members and growers in Scotland," said Stuart Woodbridge, Transport Manager at United Oilseeds.
