USDA report as expected

The USDA report today left projected soya yields as before and increased ending US stocks to an expected 415 million bushels for the 2014/15 season. Soya prices fell keeping matif oilseed rape under pressure so keeping ex farm oilseed rape prices below £240 ex farm for harvest movement.

Markets continue to be gloomy as we go into harvest AND growers still seem reluctant to release crop at these prices.

Initial yield reports of UK oilseed range between 2.5 to 4.8 tonnes per hectare with the anecdotal average at about 3.6 tonnes per hectare. There is an increasing worry that plantings will reduce throughout Europe for next year. This may yet bring some price stability and chance for prices to improve in order encourage next seasons plantings.

Regards,

Owen
