UOM's Trading Manager Receives FOSFA Award

Owen Cligg, United Oilseeds Trading Manager, today received a Special Merit Award from FOSFA International for his performance in Brunel University's FOSFA Managers Course.

Owen was presented with his certificate by Ian Robertson, Master of the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers at a special awards ceremony held at the livery company's 13th Century Hall in London.

"We are delighted that Owen's performance on the FOSFA course has been recognised. He did extremely well to come second in a group of 40 other course members from 17 different countries and I would like to congratulate him on his achievement," said Chris Baldwin, Managing Director of United Oilseeds Marketing.

The Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA) is a professional international contract issuing and arbitral body concerned exclusively with the world trade in oilseeds, oils and fats with 995 members in 84 countries. These members include producers and processors, shippers and dealers, traders, brokers and agents, superintendents, analysts, shipowners, and others providing services to traders.

FOSFA has an extensive range of standard forms of contracts covering goods shipped either CIF, C&F or FOB, for soybeans, sunflowerseeds, rapeseed, and others, vegetable and marine oils and fats, refined oils and fats, from all origins worldwide, for different methods of transportation and different terms of trade. Internationally, 85% of the global trade in oils and fats is traded under FOSFA contracts.
