Oil Content Analytical Discrepancies

Date Added: 28/01/2010

Due to discrepancies in a third party oilseed testing laboratory contracted by ADM, deliveries of oilseed rape delivered into ADM's crushing plant at Erith between 1st December 2009 and 20th January 2010 may have been incorrectly analysed for oil content.

All retained samples of oilseed rape for loads delivered during the period in question are therefore being independently retested at the earliest possible opportunity.

Chris Baldwin, managing director of United Oilseeds stated, "We are pleased that ADM have acted so quickly to rectify the problem and we are working closely with them to ensure that every load supplied by United Oilseeds between the relevant dates is retested. Our members will be informed of any alterations to their oil payments and reimbursed accordingly."

United Oilseeds would also encourage any oilseed producers who have marketed their crops via a third party agency, and which may have been delivered to Erith, to ensure that their oil contents are also retested to ensure that they too receive any unpaid oil bonuses.
