United Oilseeds Appoints New Trading Manager

United Oilseeds has today announced the appointment of Owen Cligg to the new position of Trading Manager.

Owen Cligg, who is currently working for Wessex Grain Ltd as the company's trading director, will join United Oilseeds on Monday 1st June 2009 and will be responsible for all aspects of crop trading.

"Owen is extremely well respected within the industry and has a very successful and proven track record in the marketing and trading of oilseed rape, cereals, pulses and oats," commented Chris Baldwin, managing director of United Oilseeds. "His high profile within the agricultural sector will help to enhance the company's status and his vast trading experience will strengthen our overall service to our farmer members."

Owen will work alongside the company's existing trader David Whyte, and will also work closely with the company's team of area managers to improve the level of market information available to United Oilseeds' trading members. His appointment will also enable United Oilseeds to expand its influence in the trading of linseed, oats and pulses.

"The appointment of a new trading manager is a very positive development for United Oilseeds," Mr Baldwin continues. "This new position will not only add capacity to our trading department, but will also enable me to spend more time on developing the company and enhancing our overall position within the sector."
