DK Sequoia is a new low biomass hybrid from DeKalb. It offers minimal lodging and reliable yields whilst also boasting good disease resistance and easy farming operations and harvesting efficiency.
DK Sequoia has a gross output performance that rivals many of its better known rivals and has a two year gross output of 103.8%.
Agronomic Characteristics and Disease Resistance
DK Sequoia is 10cm shorter than Castille. This low biomass eases farm operations and makes harvesting more efficient. It also makes DK Sequoia ideal for early drilling or high fertility situations where shortness of stem is an important consideration. DK Sequoia also benefits from a high resistance to lodging rating of 9.
Growth Habits
DK Sequoia exhibits small and short plant characteristics. It lies much more prostrate to the ground and has strong lateral roots which improves its winter hardiness and lodging control. DK Sequoia flowers later than Castille but has a similar maturity rating. As a low biomass hybrid, DK Sequoia is vigorous to establish and easy to manage.
